uPVC door prices in Northern Ireland: what actually sets the cost of a front door

There is no fixed price for a uPVC or composite door in Northern Ireland, because every door is made to measure and quoted to your opening, colour and hardware. Two choices set the starting point: uPVC, the cost-effective option, or composite, the premium one; and supply only or supplied and fitted. Style, glass, sidelights and colour move it from there.

Why there is no price list

How much is a uPVC door in Northern Ireland?

The honest answer is that it depends on the door you want, and a price quoted for “a uPVC door” only means something once you know what it includes. We make every door to order, so there is no stock size and no standard price to publish. Two doors that look alike in a photograph can be very different jobs once the glass, the colour and the opening are known.

Every front door we supply in Belfast and across Northern Ireland is made to order and fitted by our own team, not subcontractors. You can see the range on our composite and uPVC front doors page. The rest of this guide shows what each choice does to the quote, so you can decide before you ask.

The two starting decisions
uPVC or composite.
uPVC is the affordable, low-maintenance option. Composite is the premium choice, built with a reinforced core, insulated layers and a hard-wearing outer skin.
Supply only, or supplied and fitted.
Supply only has the lower unit price because the survey, fitting, removal of the old door, making good and waste disposal all stay with you.
Everything else is a choice you make.
Style, glass, sidelights, colour and hardware are specified door by door, which is why they are worth deciding before you ask for a price.
uPVC vs composite

uPVC vs composite door prices: what the extra money buys

Composite is the premium option and uPVC the cost-effective one, and the gap comes from how the door is built, not just how it looks. This is what you are paying for on each side.

uPVC doors

Affordable and low maintenance.
A wipe clean is all it needs: no sanding and no painting.
Weather resistant.
uPVC does not warp, rust or rot in a damp climate.
Front, back and stable doors.
Solid panel or glazed, in white, grey or wood-effect finishes.
Secure as standard.
Multi-point locking, reinforced frames and anti-snap cylinders.

Composite doors

The premium choice.
A reinforced core, insulated layers and a durable outer skin.
Two constructions.
44mm single rebate or 70mm double rebate. The 70mm door has a timber reinforced core, a GRP skin and double seals.
Wide choice.
A wide range of colours, glass designs and door styles.
Secure as standard.
Multi-point locking, and the 70mm double rebate profile is harder to breach than a single rebate door.

Front door prices in NI: what goes into a quote

We do not publish a price list, because a figure given without the door and the opening is a guess. What we can show you is exactly what a front door quote is built from, so you can decide each point before you ask and compare two quotes line by line.

Comparing quotes

uPVC doors Belfast prices: why two quotes for the same door differ

Two quotes for “the same” uPVC door in Belfast often differ because they are not pricing the same thing. Before you compare the totals, check that both include each of these.

The door and frame, in the style and colour you asked for
The glass in every panel, including any sidelights and toplight
The handle, letterplate and cylinder you chose
Removal of the old door and frame, and disposal of the waste
Fitting, and making good around the new frame
A guarantee that covers the installation as well as the product

Weighing up uPVC against composite for the same opening? You can ask for both versions priced side by side, which is the quickest way to see what the upgrade costs for your door. Our front doors for Belfast and Northern Ireland are supplied and fitted by our own team, and our uPVC doors page covers back and stable doors as well as front doors.

Supply only

Supply only or supplied and fitted: which price are you comparing?

Supply only means we make the door to the sizes you give us and deliver it, and your own fitter does the rest. The unit price is lower because it leaves out the survey, fitting, removal of the old door, making good and waste disposal. It suits installers, builders and self-builders with a competent fitter lined up.

If you are a homeowner without a fitter, supply only is usually the wrong route. On a supply only order the sizes are yours, and a door made correctly to a wrong measurement is not a manufacturing fault. For a supplied and fitted door, we survey before anything is made. Trade buyers can read how our supply only uPVC windows and doors service works.

Common questions

uPVC and composite door prices, answered

How much is a uPVC front door supplied and fitted in Northern Ireland?

It depends on the style, glass, sidelights, colour and hardware you choose, because every door is made to measure for its opening. That is why we do not publish a price list. Tell us the door you want and roughly how big the opening is, or call 028 2769 8392, and we will price that exact door supplied and fitted.

Are composite doors more expensive than uPVC doors?

Yes, for a similar style. Composite is the premium choice and uPVC the cost-effective one. The difference is construction: a composite door has a reinforced core, insulated layers and a hard-wearing outer skin, and our 70mm composite doors add a double rebate profile and double seals.

Why do you not publish door prices?

Because a figure given without the door and the opening is a guess. Every door we make is quoted to its opening, colour and hardware, and two doors with the same name can be very different jobs once the glass, the sidelights and the size are known.

Is a supply only uPVC door cheaper?

The unit price is lower, because it leaves out the survey, fitting, removal of the old door, making good and waste disposal. It makes sense when you already have a competent fitter. For a homeowner without one, a supplied and fitted door is usually the better route, because the sizes and the fitting then sit with us.

Do sidelights and a toplight add to the price of a front door?

Yes. Each is an extra glazed panel made with the frame, so it is priced as part of the door set, and the glass for each panel is chosen with the door. They are used where the opening is wider or taller than a single door.

What do I need to get an accurate front door quote?

The door type (front, back or stable), uPVC or composite, the style and glass, any sidelights or toplight, the colour, the hardware finish, and whether you want it supplied and fitted or supply only. Rough opening sizes help. For a supplied and fitted door, we survey before anything is made.

Do you supply and fit uPVC doors in Belfast?

Yes. We supply and fit composite and uPVC front doors for homes in Belfast and across Northern Ireland, with fitting by our own team rather than subcontractors. Every door is made to order for its opening.
